Here's another of Bayway's inexpensive reds from Portugal that we sell by the boatload! Created by the Fundacao Eugenio de Almeida (Adega Cartuxa) and called "EA" it will please almost every palate. The nose features plums, figs, prunes and cherries while staying fresh, smattering of spiced orange, ginger and dried honey add to the fun. In the mouth you taste ripe blackberry, plum, cherry fruit alongside chocolate and molasses crisp, the acidity and tannin stay lowkey. Not a flaw in sight! The blend is 50% Aragonez, 30% Alicante Bouschet, 20% Syrah. Try pairing it with ceviche, shellfish, while it can also accompany pasta and risotto.
